Our Classes
At Artists in Motion Performing Arts we offer a variety of classes for all levels and all ages. See below for more information on our levels by age and the classes we offer in the 2025/2026 season:
OUR CLASS LEVELS
Intro Level – Age 3
Kinder Level – Ages 4-5
Beginner Level – Ages 5 -6
Fundamental Level – Ages 7-8
Level 1 – Ages 9-11
Level 2 – Ages 10-12
Level 3 – Ages 11-14
Level 4 – Ages 12-15
Level 5 – Ages 13-20 – This is our most advanced level. Please email us for more information before self-scheduling into level 5 classes.
At AIM, our class levels (1–5) have some age overlap. We use age as a starting point and then adjust placement based on each dancer’s individual ability. Our goal is always to place every dancer where they’ll feel confident, challenged, and happy. Email Ask@ArtistsInMotionPA.com with level questions.

Dance With Me (18 Months – 3 Year Olds)
Dance with Me (18 months 3-year-olds): 30-minute class which includes creative movement, tumbling, listening & motor skill development, learning to take turns, following directions & interacting with new friends. We also learn SIGN LANGUAGE!

All By Myself (3-Year-Olds)
Get ready to discover dance in a fun and unique way! This is the perfect class for a young dancer. We use basic movement to evolve the motor skills needed for fundamental dance instruction. Dancers will learn ballet positions, tendus, how to skip, leap, and so much more, all while growing their confidence and having fun! Join us as we begin the beautiful journey in the creative movement to enjoy the wonderful world of dance!

Hippity Hop and Jazzy Hands (3 Year Olds)
Hippity Hop & Jazzy Hands (Age 3): Are you looking for a class that combines the funky style of hip hop with the technical side of jazz?! Look no further! Join us for an upbeat & entertaining class where we will work on isolations, flexibility, sense of rhythm, and overall coordination, all while dancing to age-appropriate popular music.

Tiny Tumblers (3 Year Olds)
Tiny Tumblers introduces our youngest movers to the joy of acrobatics in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment. Through playful exercises and imaginative activities, dancers develop balance, coordination, and strength while learning to follow instructions and take turns. This class lays the groundwork for future Acro training—helping little ones gain confidence, body awareness, and a love for movement from the very start!

Kinder Combo (4 – 5 Years Old)
We offer a one-hour combination class of ballet, pre-jazz technique & classical tap styles. During the ballet portion of their class, students learn ballet positions, posture & grace. During the tap portion of their class, dancers will explore the articulation of the foot and the fun rhythms of tap. During the Jazz portion of the class, students get an introduction to the world of jazz dance. This is a fun, fast-moving class that teaches the basics of body awareness & motor coordination.

Kinder Hip Hop (4 – 5 Years Old)
Tiny dancers bring big energy! Kinder Hip Hop introduces rhythm, coordination, and confidence through upbeat music and playful movement. Dancers explore basic hip hop steps, creative expression, and teamwork in a fun and encouraging environment—perfect for little movers who love to groove!

Kinder Acro (4 – 5 Years Old)
In Kinder Acro, young dancers explore flexibility, strength, and coordination through safe and playful movement. Students learn basic tumbling skills such as bridges, log rolls, and forward rolls while building confidence and body awareness. The focus is on fun, safety, and developing a love for movement! At AIM our Acro curriculum and teacher certification comes from Acrobatic Arts.

Beginner Combo (5 – 6 Years Old)
This class builds upon our dancers’ ballet education—the foundation of all dance forms—while continuing to develop rhythm and precision in tap. Students will focus on speed, clarity, and musicality, and will be introduced to an energetic, fast-paced pre-jazz technique that keeps them moving and engaged from start to finish.

Beginner Acro (5 – 6 Years Old)
This class introduces foundational acrobatic skills and proper technique in a supportive environment. Dancers will work on strength, balance, flexibility, and control as they learn tricks like cartwheels, handstands, and bridges. Beginner Acro combines gymnastics-inspired movement with dance artistry to create confident, capable performers.
At AIM our Acro curriculum and teacher certification comes from Acrobatic Arts.

Beginner Hip Hop (5 – 6 Years Old)
This class builds on the fun of hip hop foundations while introducing more structure and technique. Dancers learn basic isolations, footwork, and combinations to age-appropriate, high-energy music. Beginner Hip Hop encourages confidence, coordination, and self-expression—helping kids discover their unique style while staying active and having a blast!

Fundamental Combo – Ballet, Tap & Jazz (7 – 8 Years Old)
Students will dedicate one hour to mastering ballet terminology, refining proper body alignment, and cultivating a graceful, classical aesthetic. In the tap portion, dancers will explore dynamic rhythmic patterns with their feet, all while enhancing their sense of musicality. The jazz segment focuses on building strong technique, stamina, and captivating performance skills. This comprehensive class will showcase two dazzling routines in the recital!

Fundamental Acro (7 – 8 Years Old)
In Fundamental Acro, dancers continue developing their technical foundation while mastering more advanced skills and transitions. Emphasis is placed on strength building, body alignment, and fluidity between tricks and dance movement. Students progress through skills such as backbends, walkovers, and variations—building both power and grace. At AIM our Acro curriculum and teacher certification comes from Acrobatic Arts.

Fundamental Hip Hop (7 – 8 Years Old)
Designed for dancers ready to take their hip hop training to the next level, this class focuses on strong fundamentals, musicality, and performance quality. Students work on clean execution, rhythm precision, and age-appropriate choreography across a variety of hip hop styles. It’s the perfect bridge from beginner to intermediate training—where skill and style meet!

Acting – Levels 1/2, 3, & 4/5
Students will learn to create characters, open their imagination, and explore stage emotions through acting theories and techniques. Students will walk away from this class with an understanding of scene work, monologues, and performance skills.

Acro – Levels 1-5
Acro combines the strength and flexibility of gymnastics with the grace and musicality of dance. Dancers learn controlled tumbling, balances, contortion elements, and partner work that blend seamlessly into choreography. At AIM, our Acro classes focus on safe progressions—building core strength, flexibility, and proper technique—so dancers can master skills from forward rolls to aerials with confidence.
At AIM our Acro curriculum and teacher certification comes from Acrobatic Arts. Acrobatic Arts’ comprehensive curriculum covers anatomy, technique, progressions, and more. Developed with input from over 100 experts in related fields, it’s the most well-researched program in the industry. We are proud to have made the investment in this program for our students!

Ballet – Levels 1-5
Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms, emphasizing grace, strength, and discipline. At AIM, our training follows the Vaganova method, a renowned Russian ballet technique that builds strength, precision, and expressive artistry through structured progression. Dancers develop proper posture, alignment, flexibility, and musicality through barre and center work. Ballet training at AIM provides the technical foundation for all styles of dance while nurturing focus, artistry, and confidence—with a balance of tradition, excellence, and joy.

Cross Training for Dancers – Levels 3-5
Cross-training for dancers with coach Juls Georgevic offers a multitude of benefits. It enhances strength, flexibility, and endurance, aiding in injury prevention and promoting overall physical fitness. Moreover, it cultivates mental resilience, as dancers learn to adapt to different training modalities, ultimately enhancing their performance and longevity in the field.

Hip Hop – Levels 1-5
Hip Hop is a high-energy, rhythm-driven style that encourages dancers to move with confidence and individuality. Classes focus on musicality, coordination, and style while exploring a mix of street, commercial, and freestyle-inspired movement. Dancers learn fun, age-appropriate choreography to popular music and build strength, stamina, and performance presence. Hip Hop at AIM is all about self-expression, creativity, and having a blast while developing real technique and control!

Jazz – Levels 1- 5
Jazz is an energetic and expressive style that blends technique, rhythm, and personality. Dancers explore movement inspired by Broadway, pop, and contemporary music while focusing on coordination, flexibility, and strength. Each class includes a warm-up, progressions across the floor, and choreography that encourages dynamic performance and individual style. Jazz dance at AIM helps students build confidence, stage presence, and a true love of performance!

Lyrical/Contemporary Level 1- 5
Lyrical dance is a fusion of both ballet & jazz styles. The dancer uses their body to express the lyrics of the music. Contemporary dance pulls from modern dance techniques as well as incorporates newer philosophies of movement. Lyrical classes have a co-requisite of a ballet class.

Musical Theatre – Levels 1/2, 3, 4/5
Step into the spotlight! This class combines the energy of Broadway with the technique of dance. Dancers will learn choreography inspired by popular musicals while exploring stage presence, storytelling, and expressive movement. Classes focus on performance quality, character work, and confidence—perfect for students who love to act, sing, and dance!

Pointe Classes – offered in 4 levels.
Pre-Pointe (with approval)
This class is designed to prepare dancers to dance en pointe. Students will work to strengthen the appropriate muscles in the legs, feet, back, and abdominals to prepare students anatomically for work on pointe. This class uses demi-pointe shoes or ballet flats.
Beginner Pointe (with approval)
This class is designed to prepare your child for the full pointe class by strengthening their feet and ankles. Exercises en pointe will begin at the barre for safety and stability. Students will progress to exercises in the center to practice their balance and increase their strength.
Intermediate Pointe (12 & up and with approval)
This class is a multi-level class with three distinct classifications of the following: The focus will be on building stamina, improving strength, developing skills, and executing more difficult movements. Prerequisite: Beginner Pointe.
Advanced Pointe (age 12 & up with approval)
Designed for experienced dancers with a strong technical foundation, this class refines strength, balance, and artistry en pointe. Dancers focus on advanced combinations, variations, and performance-quality movement while continuing to build endurance, precision, and musicality. Emphasis is placed on safe technique, expressive storytelling through classical and contemporary choreography, and developing the poise and confidence of a professional ballerina.

Pre-Professional Day Program
Through participation in the AIM Pre-Professional Day Program, students will intensify their training as dancers. Our Day Program results in a higher level of technique, performance, and artistry; providing the education and experience needed to further their love of dance. Day Program is by invitation only.

Tap – Levels 1/2, 3, 4/5
AIM is excited to be adopting the Tap Roots tap curriculum and teacher certification for our students! Tap Roots provides a strong foundation and progressive structure that will propel our Tap Program to even greater heights.
In this class, students develop rhythm, timing, and leg and foot coordination through exercises set to a variety of musical styles. Our goal is to help each dancer grow as both a musician and performer—building confidence, creativity, and technical excellence through the art of tap dance.
